Empowering Families is dedicated to improving family relationships and providing accurate information about the effects of parental disharmony on children by offering tools to improve communication and effective conflict resolution and helping couples learn how to improve their marriage relationship so that their children, and themselves have a much more enjoyable life.

EMPOWERED MARRIAGE

This 10-hour course focuses on improving the marital rtelationship. Too often, couples get so involved in "doing" life that they begin to negflect their marriage; the most important human relationship they will ever experence.

Communication and HAVING FUN together are emphasized as well as how to keep the marriage relationship first without neglecting the children. Tools for conflict resolution are demonstrated and practiced in class as well as exciting exercises to do outside of class.

This class is like going on a date where you learn how to EMPOWER your marriage relationship while having a whole lot of fun at the same time!

EMPOWERED PARENTING

This 10-hour course consists of four 2½-hour sessions which focus on proven parenting techniques with an emphasis on putting the child first and, at the same time keeping the marriage relationship the primary relationship in the home.

Parents are taught how to EMPOWER themselves, EMPOWER their children and how to have to truly EMPOWERED parenting team that builds the child, and the whole family up.

Graduates of this course receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion suitable for framing as a reminder of what was learned to EMPOWER their family. This course is designed for parents to attend together and can be a very rewarding experience that brings couples closer together.

INTRODUCTION TO CO-PARENTING SEMINAR

Occassionally, we offer a free 2½-hour , INTRODUCTION TO COPARENTING seminar designed to help divorcing parents and their children better survive the divorce.

In this seminar, we describe the court process involved as it relates to children and child custody, how divorce affects children and we present information that will help divorcing parents and their children get through the ordeal. We also examine both court-based and private child-custody mediation so that the most appropriate and informed decision can be made by parents.

Court-Approved & Recommended Courses:

Millions of kids today have parents living in separate homes. Separation and divorce affects nearly one-half of all American families, and the impact can be devastating to children if their parents continue in conflict.

Research has found that children need both parents in their lives, especially when parents live apart. Even if parents never married, boys and girls are happiest when they have a meaningful relationship with both their mother and father.

EMPOWERED COPARENTING

This 12½-hour course consists of five 2½-hour sessions focusing on proven co-parenting techniques with an emphasis on putting the child first and developing a working, non-hostile relationship between co-parents.

Parents are taught how to EMPOWER themselves, EMPOWER their children and how to have to truly EMPOWERED COPARENTING team that builds the child up instead of tearing the child down.

This course meets all requirements for court-mandated co-parent education and graduates receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion to file with the court. This course is designed for co-parents to attend together but, if that is impossible, special arrangements may be made to take it separately.

EMPOWERED COPARENTING for STEPPARENTs

It has been said that "step-parents are blamed, but seldom trained". Our EMPOWERED COPARENTING FOR STEPPARENTS is about training step-parents in the task of effective step-parenting; it is about Empowering them for the task. 

This five-session, 12½-hour course focuses on proven step-parent, co-parenting techniques with an emphasis on putting the child first while, at the same time keeping the marital relationship the primary relationship within the blended family home.

Techniques for developing and maintaining a working, non-hostile relationship within the co-parenting team are described and practiced.

Stepparents are taught how to EMPOWER themselves, EMPOWER the children  and how to have to truly EMPOWERED COPARENTING team that builds up rather than tears down the child.

This course is unique in that it teaches the important position that stepparents hold on the co-parenting team. Stepparents are important, non-voting members and advisors on the co-parenting team and without their input children often suffer needlessly.

Biological parents who take this course with their spouse, the step-parent, will meet the court's requirements for court-mandated co-custody or co-parent education and will receive a Certificate of Completion upon graduation to file with the court.

When both sets of parents, both biological parents and the stepparents, take this course together, the results can be tremendous! All members of the team learn together one another's position on the team and how to avoid stepping on each other's toes as they learn how to really work together as a team in the best interest of the children.

EMPOWERED COPARENTING for GUARDIANSHIPS

Guardianship parenting can be very difficult when trying to work with the biological parents toward reunification. Our EMPOWERED COPARENTING FOR GUARDIANSHIPS is about training guardians together with the biological parents in effective ways of working together; it is about EMPOWERING them for the task. 

This 12½-hour course consists of five sessions which focus on proven guardianship co-parenting techniques with an emphasis on putting the child first while, at the same time, working together as a team to eventually end the guardianship and return the children to the biological parents.

Techniques for developing and maintaining a working, non-hostile relationship within the guardianship co-parenting team are also described and practiced.

Guardians are taught how to EMPOWER themselves, EMPOWER the children  and how to have to truly EMPOWERED GUARDIANSHIP COPARENTING team that builds up rather than tears down the child.

This course is unique in that it teaches the important interrelationship between guardian and parent on a co-parenting team. In a guardianship, the biological parents are important, but their role has been redefined for the safety of the child. They often become non-voting members and advisors on the co-parenting team and without their input children often suffer needlessly.

Biological parents who take this course with the guarians, will meet the court's requirements for court-mandated co-parent education and will receive a Certificate of Completion upon graduation to file with the court.

When both the guardian and the parent take this course together, the results are astounding! All members of the team learn together one another's position on the team and how to avoid stepping on each other's toes as they learn how to really work together in the best interest of the child.
